Bomb blast rocks church in military base


Military authorities have confirmed that 11 persons have died while about 30 have been injured in the bomb attack on the Church at the Military Barrack, Jaji, Kaduna on Sunday.
The Army has described the attack as seriously “surprising and an embarrassment.”
Eyewitness said a bus entered the barracks and was driven into the church where it exploded.
Ten minutes later, a car blew up outside the church.
"The first blast caused no casualties and curious worshippers gathered around the scene looking at the debris... and that was when the second blast happened," Military spokesman said.
The incident took place few days after the Federal Government placed various sums of money on the heads of the leaders of the dreaded Boko Haram leaders asking Nigerians to provide information on their whereabouts.

A bomb blast has occurred in a church located inside the military base in Kaduna.
The explosion was said to have occurred at the Catholic Church in Jaji, Kaduna State.
According to the Head of Public Relations of the National Emergency Management Agency, Yushau Shuaib,( NEMA), the agency's rescuers have been alerted and visited the scene of the explosion.
While confirming that the incident happened in a church, Shuaib said further information could be obtained from the military.
