Unemployed Graduates Drag Jonathan to Court

Unemployment: the plight of most Nigerian graduates today
Some fresh graduates from the Nigerian Army Military School, Zaria, have dragged President Goodluck Jonathan to court, challenging what they termed as plans by the Army Council to "demilitarize" the school.  The suit was filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, by one Ayuba Abdul, an alumnus of the school, on behalf of others.

In a 25-paragraph affidavit in support of the motion, the plaintiff said: "This was evident as the last batch of boys who passed out from the institution on August 6, 2011 are yet to be posted to their units". They argued that the move negates the essence of establishing the institution in the first instance.

Others named in the suit include the Chief of Army Staff, the Attorney General of the Federation, the Nigerian Army Council and the Nigerian Army... But what exactly are our political leaders doing, in concrete terms, to address unemployment in this country? I just hope they would not wait until this issue snowball into something negative in the near future.
