Obviously, anyone who doesn't wait until he/she becomes a politician before become a thief in Nigeria is a big fool! You will be made to spend several years in prison custody, awaiting trial.
As you read this, the Council of States headed by President Goodluck Jonathan, has granted state pardon to his brother and former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreiye Alamieyeisegha, a convicted thief.
The former governor, who was convicted for embezzling Nigeria's money running into billions of Nigeria while he was Governor, was pardoned alongside another convict and former head of the Bank of the North, Shettima Bulama.
Mr. Bulama, like Alamieyeisegha, was thoroughly investigated, prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction.
Consequently, the confirmed thieves will no longer be referred to as ex-convicts.
In a chat with Olufamous.com, a popular human rights activist said they in the human rights community have always known that Jonathan can't be trusted in the fight against corruption. The anonymous source said those in the Presidency should be prepared for Nigerian's reaction on this matter.
