Commission and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission top the list of the petition receiver.
Further digs revealed the petitions revolve around establishing where the governor secured funds to acquire a $45 million dollar jet, about ten units of bullet proof van valued at a piece, two wedding gift Prado Jeeps to newly wedded couple – 2face and wife, Annie and the means to fulfil promise of sending 29 guests to the second leg of the musician’s marriage ceremony in Dubai.
The petitions charge the anti corruption agencies to scrutinise the purchases with intent to clarify allegations of abuse of office and due process, diversion of public fund, inflation of cost, money laundering and other illegalities.
Insiders revealed public announcement of wedding gifts of two Prado Jeeps (valued at N26m) to musician Idibia and wife Annie – and pledge to bankroll 29 guests to their Dubai white wedding by Gov Akpabio, spurred the uncovering of other flamboyant spending by the state front man in the midst of wide spread condemnation.
According to a source ‘the Prado Jeeps and sponsor of 29 guests to Idibia’s wedding in Dubai, of what benefit is that to the state? And why didn’t he use that fund to develop the under developed venue of the traditional where he made the pledge?..it means the Governor doesn’t have his priority right or something is fishy with the arrangement’
Star musician Innocent Idibia held his traditional marriage ceremony on Friday March 8 2013 in Esit Urua – Eket, Akwa Ibom state. The white wedding is scheduled for Saturday March 23 2013.
Amidst great public outcry in and out of the state- the Governor gave the Jeeps to the couple and re affirmed stand to fulfil the sponsorship of 29 guests.
In the midst of this drama another revelation was made – the in the eye of the storm made another lavish spending.
He reportedly purchased ‘several bullet proof’ vehicles. Unconfirmed sources put the number of the acquisition around ten (10).

This development kick started the petitions of ‘reckless spending’ to anti corruption agencies.
And prompted the revisit of past buy of a $45 million dollar jet.
Insiders revealed the effect of putting together these ‘huge’ and ‘flamboyant’ spending is consensus of ‘ care free utilisation of public fun’. And flurry of moves via petition to arrest what is tagged ‘a grave anomaly’ in the administrative procedure of the number one citizen of Akwa Ibom state.
