Dangote set to build a multi-billion naira fertilizer plant in Edo


Africa’s richest man and Nigeria’s foremost industrialist, Alhaji Aliko Dangote is set to build a N300 billion fertilizer plant in Agenebode, Edo State.
Dangote made this known at the inauguration reception of the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in Benin City on Monday.
As Dangote puts it, the plant which will be the biggest in Africa will commence by December or January 2013 as plans have already been concluded for its take-off.
“By December or January, next year, we will perform the groundbreaking ceremony in Edo State.”

“I am reassuring you, in the presence of everybody, that in the next three years, Edo State will be exporting fertilizer from here to other parts of Africa,” he said.
Dangote added that the fertilizer plant would be concluded within the space of three years and noted that with this venture, Governor Oshiomhole would be able to deliver on job creation.
The new fertilizer plant is expected to create 10,000 more jobs for the teeming unemployed population in the country.
